Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument

Dear Friends of the Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument:

You may recall that at the dedication of the Memorial on 21 May 2005, there was a donor panel titled "reserved for future donors." We would like to complete that panel on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the dedication. There are 31 entries left before we could put that panel into production and installation.

Many of you have already contributed to the Memorial, but perhaps you would like to have another entry "In Memory of" a family member, loved one, or shipmate who has passed on.

If any of you have not donated to the Memorial, perhaps you could take this opportunity to be remembered on the Memorial Wall Donor list.

The web site for the Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument is at www.vummf.org and the "how you can help" section is copied below:

How You Can Help

The Memorial as it stands today was achieved by the private donations of interested individuals through the sponsoring organizations or by people who have learned of the project over the past several years. Services have been donated by several companies to assist in the renovation of the boats on display and in the pouring of concrete for the Memorial Wall. Please note that the labor involved in excavating, forming and pouring concrete was from the volunteers who have been associated with the project. The installation of the Memorial panels was completed on 11 July 2004 at a cost of over $36,000. Additional funds are required for routine and long-term maintenance and improvements to the Memorial and grounds.

You may send 501(c)(3) tax deductible donations of any amount to:
VUMMF
P.O. Box 181172
Coronado, CA 92178-1172

All donations will be acknowledged, and those of $100 or more will have the name of the donor included in a Donor Section on the Wall. You may include your service in Vietnam, memorialize a family member or veteran, or your unit in Vietnam.

Thank you for your consideration.

Ken McGhee
President, Vietnam Unit Memorial Monument Fund
